What does Development mean?
Long term training focused on helping a worker realise their potential.
What is On-the-job training?
Training while working (same site).
What is Off-the-job training.
Training away from the job (different site).
What is Induction Training?
Training to introduce the worker to the business.
What is an advantage and a disadvantage of Induction Training?
Advantage: Helps workers to settle down and be more productive quicker.
Disadvantage: Alot of information to take in one day, costs involved for trainer.
What is an advantage and a disadvantage of On-the-job Training?
Advantage: Training is individulised to help each worker, its also cheaper.
Disadvantage: Quality may be poor, it depends on the trainer.
What is an advantage and a disadvantage of Off-the-job Training?
Advantage: Experts can provide the training, its also a change of enviroment.
Disadvantage: It is more expensive due to travel costs and fees, there is also the risk of the employee leaving once being trained.
