What are advantages and disadvantages of tall organisational structure?
-messages can take a long time to get from the top to the bottom. Decisions take a long time
-however managers have narrow spans of control, they aren’t responsible for many people therefore can monitor the people below them closely.
What are advantages and disadisadvantages of flat structure?
-People are given more responsibility and freedom.
-however managers can get overwhelmed by too many people reporting to them.
What is the difference between centralised and decentralised structures?
centralised: all decisions are made by the top authority whereas decentralised it shares out the authority to make decisions between employees.
