What’s the difference between quality assurance and quality control?
Quality control (QC) assumes errors are unavoidable. Detects errors and puts them under control. Inspectors check other people’s work and responsible for quality
Whereas quality assurance prevents errors and aims to get it right the first time. Employees check their own work.
What is TQM (total quality management) ?
Means the whole workforce is committed to quality improvements
Advantages and disadvantages of TQM?
Advantages:
-helps boosts company’s reputation for providing quality.
-usually lead to fewer faulty products/ creates less waste.
-helps employees bond as a team
Disadvantages:
-can take a long time to introduce TQM
-can demotivate staff
-expensive to introduce
