Q

What are the important observations made in an acid + base reaction !?

A

. The base disappears
(because it is used up in the reaction)

Q

Step one (Making salt crystals):

A

. Add excess base to hot acid
( makes the salt solution quickly and ensures all the acid is used up)

Q

Step two (making salt crystals):

A

. Filter out the excess base
(The salt solution is the filtrate and is collected in an evaporating basin)

Q

Step three (making salt crystals) :

A

. Heat the salt solution until crystals start to form around the edges.
(this saturates the solution so that the crystals form most efficiently)

Q

Step four (making salt crystals) :

A
