–
Locate the IVC. Into what area does this drain?
Right atrium.
Locate the SVC. Into what area does this drain?
Right atrium.
Locate the Pulmonary trunk
–
Locate the Ascending aorta
–
Locate the Right atrioventricular groove (coronary sulcus)
–
Locate the Left atrioventricular groove (coronary sulcus)
–
Locate the Anterior interventricular groove (sulcus)
–
Locate the Posterior interventricular groove (sulcus)
–
Locate the Pulmonary veins
–
Locate the Right coronary artery and its 3 branches.
variable
- Branch to sinoatrial (SA) node: an early branch, coursing toward where the superior vena cava enters the right atrium
- Right marginal artery: along the inferior margin of the heart
- Posterior interventricular artery
Left coronary artery and its 2 branches.
variable
LCA origin near ascending aorta.
- Anterior interventricular artery: found in the anterior interventricular sulcus, with the great cardiac vein
- Circumflex artery: found within the coronary sulcus wrapping around to the posterior aspect of the heart.
Locate the Coronary sinus.
–
Identify the Great cardiac vein and course.
Becomes the coronary sinus.
Identify the Small cardiac vein and its course.
The small cardiac vein originates near the marginal artery along the inferior margin of the heart.
Identify Middle cardiac vein and its course
Runs with the posterior interventricular artery in the posterior interventricular groove/sulcus. The middle cardiac vein empties into the coronary sinus.
Identify the Posterior vein of the left ventricle (left posterior ventricular v.)
–
Identify the Oblique cardiac vein
A small vessel which descends obliquely on the back of the left atrium and ends in the coronary sinus
