Food security is the ability of human populations to access food of a sufficient quality and quantity
What do breeders seek to develop crops with?
Higher nutritional values, resistance to pests and disease, physical characteristics suited to harvesting and those that can thrive in particular environmental conditions

Light energy not absorbed is transmitted or reflected
What is the benefit of having accessory pigments?
Each pigment absorbs a different range of wavelengths
