What does the client mean by ‘budget’?

A

Project Budget - total available funds (includes contract price, prov sums, contingency sums, consultants fees, furniture and equipment, approval costs, etc)

Construction Budget -
Contract price = total amount including GST
Cost of building work = net cost excluding GST

A

Prudent to inform client of any other consultants that may be required (and thus should allow fees for)

Full (Traditional) Service - Concept -> Documentation -> Contract Admin

Partial service - generally provide documentation for a novated contract. No CA. High risk - fees should reflect extra handover work.

A

Calculating fees: Base rates + overheads + profit
Take into account: who client is, nature of job, expertise, new build vs extension, location

Different types of fee agreement: Hourly rates, Lump sum, Percentage
