  • It’s the area 20-30 km above the earths surface

- It prevents harmful ultraviolet parts of sun rays from reaching earth

Discuss the hole in the ozone layer? (4)

A
  • Holes in the ozone layer have been appearing since 1970
  • In the areas where there isn’t an ozone layer, rays can get through
  • Humans are exposed to the rays, causing helth problems
    • like skin cancer + eye damage

  • The layer around the earth is called the atmosphere

- Some of the gasses making up the atmosphere are greenhouse gasses

  • Sun rays come through the atmosphere
  • Greenhouse gasses trap the rays’s heat
  • Makes the temperature on Eartg warmer, causes global warming

  • We do need some greenhouse
  • Without them, the Earth’s temperature will be freezing cold
  • The amount of greenhouse gasses are rising because the Earth’s temperatures are rising
