Q

How are fossil fuels formed? (5)

A
  • Form of energy from millions of years ago
  • It’s made from plants and animal matter
  • When the animal/plant dies it becomes matter under the earths layers
  • It forms into rocks when it’s crushed under the layers
  • It becomes a fossil fuel, then we’d dig them up and use it as an energy source

Q

Discuss wood as a reason for climate change (3)

A
  • Wood isn’t a fossil fule, yet it’s often used as a fuel source
  • It produces lower levels of harmful sulphates
  • Although it still produces high levels of CO2

Q

What is the open land because of deforestasion used for (

A
  • Agriculture
  • Farming
  • New offices
  • New homes
  • this encourages more deforestation
  • slowly our forests vanish and are replaced with towns and cities

Q

Why are plants and trees vital for the environment (1) and what happens when they are destroyed (2)

A

-Plants soaks up CO2 and changes it into oxygen for us to breath in

  • As forests are destroyed, less CO2 is obsorbed and taken out of the air
  • Therefore the CO2 finds its way into to atmosphere
