It is a fully automated system that considers the skin temperature and adjusts inlet and outlet flaps to optimize cooling and airflow.

Both the inlet and the outlet flaps are fully open (aircraft is on ground and the skin temperature is above a set threshold)
What is the CLOSED CIRCUIT CONFIGURATION of the avionics ventilation system?
Both the inlet and outlet flaps are fully closed. The SKIN EXCHANGE INLET BYPASS VALVE and SKIN EXCHANGE ISOLATION VALVE is open, allowing air to the cargo under floor, eventually exiting via the outflow valve (aircraft is on the ground or inflight and the skin temperature below a set threshold).
What is the INTERMEDIATE CIRCUIT CONFIGURATION of the avionics ventilation system?
The inlet flap is fully closed, the outlet small flap is open (aircraft is in-flight and the skin temperature is above a set threshold).

What is the SMOKE CONFIGURATION for the ventilation system?
Once the BLOWER and EXTRACT pushbuttons have been selected to OVRD, the blower fan will stop, the extract fan will continue to run. The inlet flap closes, the small outlet flap opens, the SKIN EXCHANGE ISOLATION VALVE closes and the SKIN EXCHANGE INLET BYPASS VALVE closes.
