Juvenile
Juvenile means an individual who is under the age of 18
Delinquency means the act by a juvenile which if committed by an adult would constitute a crime/ DP/ PDP or a violation of any other penal statute, ordinance or regulation.
Under no circumstances shall any juvenile taken into short term custody be held more than 6 hours

Complaints charging delinquency may be signed by any person who has knowledge of he facts alleged to
Constitute delinquency or is informed of such facts and believes that they are true.
Juvenile family crisis
Behavior conduct or a condition of a juvenile, parent or guardian or other family member which presents or results in:
Threat to well being
Conflict
Runaway for more than 24 hours
Pattern of truancy
An act of prostitution or human trafficking
Petitions alleging that a juvenile family crisis exists shall be signed by court intake services.
Juvenile detention
Taken into short term custody shall not be retained in a detention facility or jail
No juvenile 11 years or under shall be place in detention unless he is charged with a 1• 2• or arson
Release of juvenile on won recognizance
May be released if ALL of the following. Have been met:
Not a danger to he community
There is no parent, guardian or other adult to whom the juvenile could be release and all reasonable measures have been exhausted
Juvenile is at least 14
The ID and address of the juvenile are verified
Reasonable certainty exists that upon release, the juvenile will return to school or home safely and will appear at his hearing
Suspension, postponement of right to operate a MV
For an initial act of graffiti committed by a person at least 13 and under 18 years of age that court may suspend or postpone for one year that persons right to operate a MV including a motorized bicycle.
Juveniles who shall not be committed to a state juvenile facility
Age 11 or under unless adjudicated delinquent for the crime of arson or 1•or 2• crimes
Juveniles who are developmentally disabled
