What should a party do if it needs clarification or further information about a point in dispute?

A

18PD.1
The party requesting information should serve a written request on the other party to voluntarily supply the information, stating a date by which it should comply. If the other party fails or refuses the requesting party should apply to the court to use its powers under CPR 18.1.

A

18PD.4
The refusing party should:
Promptly inform the other party;
Give reasons and (where relevant) a date by which he can comply;
There is no need to apply to the court;
Where compliance is possible but only at disproportionate time and expense, the party should say this in his reply.
