A

A pilgrimage is a place of reflection and can help one deepen their faith with God.
Unites Catholics with the history of their faith e.g. Rome (visit sacred tombs) and Jerusalem (walk in the footsteps of Christ and apostles).
Connects them with other people of their faith including other denominations (Walsingham)
Enables Opportunities of Caritas, Christian love, by helping those in need and reminds them of the miraculous power of God (Lourdes)•Jerusalem is recognisedas a sacred place by all Christians, only Catholics focus on the Marian places of pilgrimage really as she does not hold the same significance in other denominations. Walsinghamhas shrines for both Catholics and CofEand only Catholics hold Rome as being significant today still because of their belief in papal authority.
