What is the War Powers Resolution? (1973)
A
- The president can send troops into combat as needed
- President must make Congress aware of what they’re doing within 48 hours.
- After 60 days, if Congress believes troops are no longer needed, send them back home- or can do nothing (“leg. veto”)

Who can be impeachment?
A
Can apply to any govt. official NOT in Congress.

What are the two parts of a presidential impeachment process?
A
- House of Reps. vote (majority).
- Senate holds trial and votes whether or not to remove the Pres. (2/3 vote). (Johnson, Bill Clinton, Trump x2)

What is absolute immunity?
A
From persecution: official acts within presidency. NO UNOFFICIAL ACTS. Applies to former presidents.

Who can the president appoint?
A
- Cabinet members
- Ambassadors
- Supreme Ct. Justices
- Lower fed. Ct. judges
(All appointments need a simple majority, can’t filibuster them).
