Must be at least 30 years old have nine years of citizenship in the United States and a resident of the United States.

Six year terms. 100 members. Two members per state.
What are the expressed powers of congress? (That are shared between BOTH houses)
Declaring war. Raising an army/navy. Borrow and coin money. Regulate interstate commerce. Create federal courts. Naturalization of immigration.
What are the powers DENIED to congress?
Cannot place taxes on exports. Cannot suspend the writ of habeas corpus. Cannot pass bills of attainder. Cannot pass ex post facto laws.
What is the writ of habeas corpus?
The right to judge; wrongly imprisoned
What are bills of attainder?
Law that puts people in prison with no trial
What are ex post facto laws?
Cannot make things more illegal, can’t be tried again (double jeopardy). However, Congress is allowed to make things less illegal.
