A

there is a time set for them in prison but there is no automatic right to be released, some are IPPs(imprisonment for public protection)-detained indefinitely

what is a determinate sentence?

A

one with a fixed length but not all are served in prison e.g over 12 months 1/2 in prison,1/2 in community supervised by probation+conditions

A

offender given sentence, but doesnt go straight to prison. can be suspended up to 2 years+must meet requirements, if not serve original sentence
