13
Q

How do we calibrate the lensmeter? 3 steps

A

1) Turn eyepiece all the way outwards
2)Look into the eyepice and slowly turn the eyepice inward, crosshairs and ring will focus
3)If you go past the focus point turn it back and start again

16
Q

How to differentiate the sphere and cylinder lines on a lensmeter?

A

Single Line/ narrowly spaced = sphere line
trigle lines/ wider spaced = cylinder line

17
Q

What are the 5 steps to reading a Minus Cylinder Lens? detailed

A

1) Turn the power wheel all the way to high plus
2) put lenses in place
3) Turn the power wheel towards the minus
4) Sphere lines will focus FIRST
5) Clyinder lines will focus SECOND

18
Q

If both sets of lines are sharp what does that mean?

A

It is a sphere lens

19
Q

If the cylinderlines are broken what does that mean?

A

The axis is wrong

20
Q

What happens if the cylinder lines clear first?

A

The axis is off by 90 degrees

21
Q

Review the steps to finding a Minus/Plus Cylinder Lens in Powerpoint

A
22
Q

How do you find the cylinder power?

A

Its the difference between the two powers recorded

23
Q

How do we tell if a prescription is being read on a lensmeter in plus or minus cyl?

A

If the power difference goes in plus direction = plus cyl
If the power difference goes in minus direction = minus cyl
