What is a multidrop lenses?
-Made to overcome cosmetic negatives of lenticular while keeping a thin lens.

What is a myodisc lens? 3
-front surface that is either flat or almost flat
-contains cylinder component and also has a plano back carrier area
-high minus bowl in the middle of the back surface.
What is a minus Lenticular Lens? 3
-semifinished lens that has a plus six or more front curve.
-Minus bowl is ground into the front which becomes the back
-Cylinder and reamianing power is ground into the now front of the lens.

What are the 4 steps for fitting and measuring segmented multifocals/trifocals/bifocals?
1)Use actual frame
2)Adjust the frame to fit the px
3) Hold PD ruler where 0 is at lower limbus/lower lid margin
4)The bifocal height is the number measured at the lowest part of the groove inside the lower eyewire.
What is the formula to calculate the near power?
Total near power= Distance Power + Near Addition
What is the consideration when fitting/measuring a double d seg? 2
The lower edge of the top segment will automatically be 13/14 mm above the lower seg line.
-Reasonable minimum area for the upper seg is 9mm.
