- stable, external factors, suggests success is only achieved from easy tasks and an individual may shy away from harder tasks.
- ## unstable, external factors, suggests success is inly a result of good fortune
what should you attribute success to and why ?
- internal stable factors, builds confidence
- internal unstable factors, promotes trying hard and being well prepared
what should you attribute failure to and why
- sometimes internal unstable as it creates the narrative that future improvement is within ones control
- external factors as it preserves confidence
what is mastery orientation
A strong motive to succeed, found in the high achiever. They expect to succeed but are persistent during failure.
what is learned helplessness
A feeling that failure is inevitable and uncontrollable.
