Inflammation confined to submucosa

Skip lesions
Inflammation all the way through to mucosa

What is the grading of hepatic encephalopathy?
1- Irritability
2- Confusion, inappropriate behaviour
3-Incoherent, restless
4- coma
When is an urgent referral for endoscopy needed?
Any patient >55 with weight loss and any one of the following
- Upper abdo pain
- reflux
- dyspepsia
What is the management for c diff infection?
Oral vancomycin for 10 days
2nd line oral fidaxomicin
3rd line- oral vancomycin +/- IV metronidazole
What is a feature of oesophageal candidiasis?
Painful swallowing
History of steroid therapy
What are symptoms of haematochromoatosis?
Reduced libido
Erectile dysfunction
Darkened skin
Fatigue
What are associated factors of non alcoholic fatty liver disease?
Obesity T2DM Hyperlipidaemia Jejunal bypass Sudden weight loss/starvation
What are the most common symptoms of Crohns in adults and children?
Children- abdo pain
Adults- diarrhoea
