- Employees can work from home connected through the intranet which increases profits due to lowered costs
- Employees working from home may be isolated

- Businesses can collect data which is used to target customers and improve products offered, helping them meet customer needs
- Businesses can provide cloud computing services which allows other businesses to store data on another businesses system cloud computing services can analyse data and identify important trends, which allows the business to adopt changes in their market

Allows the business to reduce costs and improve quality, efficiency, and competitiveness

Electronic commerce - the act of buying or selling a product using an electronic system such as the internet
