In the fires on the fifth floor or above.
Never take an elevator to the fire floor. Exit two floors below and use the stairs.
High-rose buildings are defined as:
Buildings more than 6 stories, or more than 75’ above the lowest level of FD access

Direct/assist occs found in attack stairwell to evac stairwell
Advise Division Supervisor (2nd in DC) when attack stairs are “clear” of occs.
Ventilate attack stairwell, elevator shaft *only with approval from Division Supervisor after water on fire
Continue sweep of attack stairs from top to lowest level of smoke stratification
And low-rise structures, heated fire gases rise to the highest level in the structure. In high-rise buildings, the smoke in toxic gases tend to rise until they reach __________________, then they will _________________.
