Broca’s area:
Savannah’s Broca’s area is responsible for helping her speak Japanese. If it didn’t function, she’d fail the speaking portion.
Use of Phonemes:
Savannah will use phonemes by recognizing Japanese sounds and their pronunciations.
Modeling:
Savanna’s teacher demonstrated how to speak Japanese words correctly and Savanna imitates her.
Chunking:
Chunking relates because Savannah could learn words by grouping them with other words that are alike. (Food with other food, etc)
Encoding Failure:
Savannah never bothered to put the Japanese words into her memory at all, so her grade will suffer.
Age and Language acquisition:
It would be easier if Savannah started learning Japanese when she was younger because she passed the critical period.
Self-efficacy:
Savannah had a good feeling about the exam and went into it knowing she’ll pass it.
Confirmation bias:
Savannah may only remember the questions she knew she got right.
