Skinners operant conditioning subjects learn through positive/negative reinforcement & punishment. Subjects more likely to continue an action that is positively reinforced than negatively punished.

Parents should use negative punishment by takin away a child’s toy after they throw a fit.

People learn by observing others.

Parents provide a model for sharing.
Ainsworth (defined)
Secure Attachment - Children after their mothers short disappearance, greet her with joy and happiness that she is back. They grow into independent adults.

Involve secure attachments. Show Mary that they are supportive, but give her time to play alone, so she can learn independence and be securely attached to her parents when they return.

Authoritarian (demand obedience, no questions asked), Authoritative (sets limits but allow their kids flexibility) and permissive (no limits)

Authoritative parents - Set limits but give her flexibility and independence. Gives Mary Support and freedom to build self esteem.
