Explain sutures in a childs brain and ossification.
A
Sutures - five layers, osteogenic cells displace old bone away from suture.
Ossification begins in 3rd decade on deep surface. Sagittal suture closes first.

What is abnormal ossification?
A
Craniosynostosis. Asymmetrical he’d and increased pressure. Treated by remodelling.

What is the pterion and what is its clinical significance?
A
H shaped suture near temple overlying middle meningeal artery. Damage leads to extradural haemorrhage.
