2 Stroke And 4 Stroke Flashcards
1
Q
What’s the difference between 2 stoke and 4 stroke?
A
It’s the number of rotations it needs to complete its combustion process.
2
Q
What happens in a 2 stroke cycle?
A
It only requires 360 degree crank revolution. Mean each cylinder is fired at that time
3
Q
What happens in a 4 stroke cycle?
A
It’s 720 degree crank rotation is need for the combustion process.
4
Q
What is the name for each stroke for the 4 stroke process?
A
Intake, compression, combustion, exhaust
5
Q
What happens on the intake stage?
A
- pistons travels from TDC to BDC
- created a negative pressure in the cylinder
- which draws air through intake valve
6
Q
What happens in the compression stage
A
- piston travels from BDC to TDC
- compressing the charged air
- as both valves are now closed
7
Q
What happens in the combustion stage?
A
- fuel is injected and ignited
- which rapidly expands the gasses
- forces the piston down to BDC
8
Q
What happens in a exhaust stage?
A
- piston travels from BDC to TDC
- expelling the burnt gasses out the open exhaust valve
