How did Richard III deal with law and order, specifically Buckingham’s Rebelllion?

A

Richard crushed Buckingham’s Rebellion in 1483 that was in support of Henry Tudor. Over one hundred people were attainted. The rebellion was supported by former members of Edward IV’s household after Henry Tudor promised to marry Elizabeth of York. Richard travelled the country visiting areas that witnessed lawlessness.

A

He introduced Northerners who he could trust into the South after Buckingham’s Rebellion. This was very unpopular with Southerners.

  • Richard tried to get Brittany to hand Henry Tudor over, but he escaped to France.
    The Tudor army that invaded England had French support, but also Bretons and Scots, underlying the failure of Richard’s foreign policy.
