what is rhinoplasty?
nose job
what is otoplasty? when done?
= pin ear back, congenital problem mostly due to lack helix fold
- 1,2,3 assessment technique (about cm from certain points to see how sticky outy)
what is mentoplasty?
chin implant/augmentation - for double chin
what is ageing surgery?
- botox, fillers, face lift, skin rejuvenation
(since as age skin gets thinner, melanocytes decrease so uneven pigmentation, decrease in collagen & elastin so saggy)
what is blepharoplasty?
eyelids less baggy
what is primary closure of skin reconstruction?
directly stitching wounds together
what is healing by secondary intention of skin?
wound left open to heal (no sutures pulling together = bigger scar)
what are skin grafts?
taking a piece of healthy skin from another area and transplanting it to wound site
what are skin flaps?
piece of skin that’s still attached to original blood supply to cover wound (keeps deep layer unlike skin graft so more complex large wounds)
