Describe phagocytosis in neutrophils
A phagocyte is attracted to tagged foreign antigens on pathogens, the phagocyte engulfs the pathogen this releases cytokines which signal to other hagocytes to move to the area of infection the phgocyte binds with a lysosome to form a phagolysosome this digests and destroys the pathogen
the phagolsososme digests the pathgen and glycoproteins MHC from thw cytoplasm bind to the antigenson the pathogen to form a MHC antigen complex. this moves to the cell membrane and presents itseflf as a aPC which is importantfor the specific immune response for lymphocytes to recogniseb
b lymphocyres also have antigen receptorson the cell surface allof the antibodies on
+
Macrophage at APC stage interacts with t helper cell. t helper cells have t cell receptors which are specific for a unique antigen . the antigen binds t the receptor and the t helper cell activetes it releases interleukins which trigger the thelper cell to undergo mitosos forming cloes of other activated t helper cells the interleukins also triggerr macrophages to undergo phagocytoss
b lymphocytes also have antigen receptirs on their surface same antigen can ind to the antibody on one lymphxite a diff lymphcyte m,eans diff antigen can bind the b lu=yphocyre attaches to a pathogen engulfs and digests it and prsesent as a aspx cell w=attached to a MHC molecule . a t helper cell whic is activatd binds its t cell receptor to the lymphocytes antigen bc the correct t heleper cell had paired wih the correct lymhocite is it calle clonal selecton
b lymphocytes attaches to a pathogen englufs it digests and presnets it on its surface attached to a MHC molecule and acts as a APC a activated t helper cell usese its t cell receptor snd binds to the ntigen attached to thr lympocut==
