Sea Temperatures
27 degrees or above as it provides a continuous source of heat to maintain rising air currents

Location
At least 5 degrees north or south of equator so the Coriolis force can being maximum rotation of air
Coriolis force is weak at equator and stops a circular flow developing

Have to come together near centre of low pressure zone
Need to be uniform in direction for storm to attain height and intensity
Energy
Exist where this a supply of latent heat and moisture to provide energy and low frictional drag on ocean surface
Low pressure
Atmospheric instability, two Hadley cells converge at ITCZ, creates low pressure which is perfect for spawning
