- yearly sum was paid to parents if they had 10 children min
- king gave a dowry to poor catholic women and native catholic women who married a French colonist
- Prisoners would start a new life in New France

Farmers, labourers or craftspeople from France

The gap between men and women was reduced. There was a balance
