What is quick response manufacturing? QRM

A

This is the amount of time taken to respond to orders for a part or a product this is known as lead time. one of the methods of reducing QRM is a strategy for drastically, reducing the time between a product to be in a concept and being completed.
The whole strategy is focused on going through design process and developing products to meet. Customers needs quickly.

What is vertical in-house production?

A

This is an arrangement in which the supply chain of a company is owned by that company. Those statues for vertical in-house productions set up their manufacturing in such a way that they minimise the need for external suppliers.
Advantages:
Reduce the risk of unexpected price increases, easier to implement quality assurance strategies
Disadvantages:
Reduction in flexibility , increase in administration
