Explain why the autralian commonwealth parliament was established in 1901
beacuse there was problems that began to arise like there was contrsiants o intercolony trade due to the coloines g=having different railway systems, postafe stamps and taxes. there was also defence corncerns:
->like how each colony had their own army,
->no uniform defnec to protect the entire country
->the growth of non britsih immigrants and lack of common immgration policy.
Then in 1800s, each colony sent a groups of representatives to spoecial meeting (CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTIONS) where it was deciced that a new centeral comonwealth parliament would be created. the parliament make laws on notional matters like defence, trade postal services etc. while the colonial parliaments would keep the power to make laws like hospitals, roads, and law enforcements etc.
this new federal system was knwon as the aus const.
