Describe ethanol
A
Colorless liquid
Can be manufactured from ethene and glucose(fermentation)
Burn with a clean blue flame in excess air to form co2 and water
C2h5oh + 3o2 -> 2co2 + 3h2o

Uses of ethanol
A
As a fuel - mixed with petrol or use alone as fuel for cara bc it burns cleanly -> less polluting and reduce reliance on petrol and diesel
As a solvent - used in perfumes and other comestics, in printing ink and in glues. It dissolves the things that water cannot and evaporates easily
