1.3.1 Geometry Flashcards
What is the second way of measuring an angle?
Radian
What is the radian, and what does this mean the angle is?
Part of the circumference equal to the radius. This means the angle is radian 1
How is the length of the arc always given?
Angle in radians x radius
What is the equation for angle in radians?
Length of the arc / radius
What is 30 degrees in radians?
Π/6
What is 45 degrees in radians?
Π/4
What is 60 degrees in radians?
Π/3
What is 90 degrees in radians?
Π/2
Find the angle in radians subtended by an arc 12.9cm long whose radius is 4.6cm?
angle in radians= length of arc/ radius
12.9 divided by 4.6 = 2.804 radians
How do you work out the degrees angle from radians?
Angle in degrees = 180x radians/ Π
How do you express an angle in radians from degrees?
Πxdegrees / 180
What is an acute angle?
Less than 90
What is a right angle?
90
What is a reflex angle?
Bigger than 180
What is a complementary angle?
Sum of the angles = 90
What is a supplementary angle?
Sum of angles = 180
When two straight lines intersect what are the opposite angles?
Equal
When parallel lines are cut by a transverse which angles are the same?
The angles in the same positions (corresponding).
The opposite angles on the opposing (alternate)
What is a cartesian graph?
Standard x and y that intersect at 0
If the data line in a graph is straight what does this mean for the data?
It is directly proportional.
What is a hyperbola in a graph?
A data line that is curved.
Where is the sine waves start point?
Zero
Where is the cosine start point?
Its maximum output.
What is a nomogram?
A graph used to solve complex problems with more than one variable.
What are nomograms also known as?
Alignment graphs.
