1.2.3 Graphs of Equations Flashcards
1
Q
Where should the independent variable be plotted?
A
X axis
2
Q
Where should the dependent variable be plotted?
A
Y axis
3
Q
How do you determine the equation of a line?
A
Find two points on the line and take their coordinates, put it into the equation given for both points so you have two equations. Subtract the equations, substitute.
4
Q
Y=Mx+C is broken down to what?
A
M= gradient C= y intercept
5
Q
How do you work out the gradient when only a line is shown?
A
Make a triangle and make it BC over AC. This will be the fractional gradient.
6
Q
When looking at a line graph what is a positive gradient?
A
The line climbs from its lowest point on the left.
