A

DR ABC
Danger - is it safe to approach?
Response - are they responsive?
Airway - if there is no response open airways by placing fingers under their chin and lifting forwards
Breathing - Check they are breathing normally, if they are not initiate CPR
Circulation - if the casualty is responsive and breathing check for signs of bleeding. Put pressure on wounds if they are not plugged

How do you do CPR?

A

Interlock fingers and place them on the casualties chest and press down hard and fast (5-6cm about 2x per second)
For children use one hand and do not press so far
For infants use two fingers and press to 1/3 of chest depth
Only stop if they start breathing or a medical professional takes over

A

Rapid pulse
Pale skin
Sweating

Reassure them
