Define physique
Physique is the form, size and development of a persons body.
Define metabolic
The whole range of biochemical processes that occur within us.

Power is the combination of speed and strength.

Maximal strength is the greatest amount of weight that can be lifted in one go.
How does body shape, size and physique generally differ by gender?
Body shape, size and physique are generally different in men and women. Women tend to be smaller overall with a flatter, smaller pelvis (evolved for childbirth), smaller lungs, heart and higher percentage of fat (25% in younger women compared to 15% in younger males).
As a result of women having smaller hearts and lungs, what does it mean for them?
That they have a lower oxygen carrying-capacity than males, sometimes up to a 43% difference.
Muscle strength and maximal strength is greater in men than women. This can vary up to __% to __%

What is the impact of different maturity levels in sport?
Girls tend to mature quicker and earlier than boys so at young ages this can make sports between boys and girls fair. However, after the age of 11, boys tend to grow taller and become stronger, so after this age sports and generally single sex.
Men tend to be less effected by changes in chemical substances in their bodies. How are women effected, and whats the disadvantage?
The fact that women menstruate and suffer hormone imbalances can put them at an disadvantage when performing.
How can a female be at an advantage in terms of physique?
Women weigh less and are more flexible which can be an advantage in many sports, gymnastics being a main one.
How can a female be at an disadvantage in terms of physique?
They would be at a huge disadvantage when it comes to activities that require strength and power as they have a lower body muscle mass.
