What does the Bible teach about the Holy Spirit’s work in the Old Testament?
It was the same as in the NT, yet not as full.
What is the Holy Spirit’s function today?
Is it different than the past?
He is the Lord, the giver of Life. He guides, illuminates, convicts, regenerates, and offers the gift of faith and repentance.
No. Just more fully realized.
What happened at Pentecost?
How does this relate to the church today?
The fullness of the Holy Spirit came upon God’s people.
Likewise, the Spirit dwells within us and equips us for His Kingdom-building work.
Distinguish between the gifts and the fruits of the Spirit.
Gifts: Given to believers, used for edification.
Fruits: Our Christ-like character. (Gal. 5:22)

Yes. All believers receive at least one gift; and nobody receives every gift.
Are there any gifts not present today?
Revelatory gifts, e.g. Prophecy.
These ceased with the office of apostle.
