Individual housing of sows in stalls requirements?
A
- Must be able to stand up at rest without touching both sides of the stall at the same time
- When lying down their snout and hinquarters must not be touching both ends of the stall at the same time
- If the stall has bars alon the top they must not touch their backs when standing
- Water and feeder must be easily accessible to them, but not prevent them from standing up, stretching or lying down
- When lying down, any contact with their neighours in stalls on either side must not result in injury

- Shall be kept in groups
- From 4 weeks after serving to 1 week before farrowing
