Purpose of naval intelligence
system kf personnel, procedures, equipment and facilities both afloat and ashore it supports bot naval and joint operations. embedded in all major echelons of command and is deployed continuously with naval forces.

What is strategic intelligence?
formation of policy and military plans at a national and international levels
what is operational intelligence?
intelligence conducted within regional theaters or areas of operation.
what is tactical intelligence?
planning and conducting tactical operations at the component or unit level
What is a Priority Intelligence Requirement? PIR
critical to accomplishing the mission.
CCIR is what?
Commanders critical information requirements. Intel that is crucial and requires the immediate attention of the commander.
What is intelligence oversight?
process of ensuring all intelligence operation are conducted within the bounds of U.S. law, executive orders and DoD regulations.
What is ISR?
Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance. provides a level of planning analysis and targeting support for operation units and combatant commands.
What is HUMINT?
human intelligence. derived from intelligence collected by human sources.
What is OSINT?
intel that is collected through publicly available means and the carelessness of a nation’s citizens.
What is MASINT?
Measurement and signature intellience. technically derived intelligance from imagery and sigint.
What is SIGINT?
Signals intelligence. gather by interception of signals between people or governments organizations.
What is COMINT?
Comms intelligence. sub category of SIGINT that involves messages or voice info.
