Differentiate between quality control and quality assurance

A

Quality assurance is preformed by a person dependent of the project whereas quality control can be preformed by a member of the project team.

Quality assurance activities can be done earlier in the project life cycle whereas quality control activities need project outputs to assess.

QC is reactive and fixes problems, typically involves inspecting, testing and measuring.

QA is proactive that aims to prevent, typically involves quality standards, and conducting regular reviews.
