and catheteres cost money
symptoms include: fever chills nausea headache incrased spasms extraordinary pain or burning sensation AD: autonomic dysreflexia
S/S OF A URNIARY TRACT INFECTION
treatment of a UTI:
timed voiding, meds, antibiotics, catheterization
types of catheters:
intermittent, indwelling, condom catheters ( the women version too)
foley is indwelling
suprapubic: it goes through the groin not the urthera point
side effects of catheteres:
RISK OF UTI: indwelling
skin breakdown and maceration from condom catheters
constipation def:
decrease in frequency of person’s bowel movements
abdominal sweeling or bloating and /or discomfort or pain
leakage of mucus form rectum
autonomic dysreflexia
greater than 30 min wait between insertion of suppository adn initiation of bowel movement s
ahr dbowel movemetns
pain or bleedin gfrom hemorrhoids
bowel program takes longer than usual for client or takes more than 60 minutes
S/S OF CONSTIPATION
age for increase risk of Constipation:
75 years of age
prevent and remedy of constipation:
education
exercise
fluids
diet
pressure sores def:
areas of skin or underlying tissue that is dead or dying as a result of the loss of blood flow to the area
aging circulatory problems skin disorders disease - diabetes - cancer weight - overweight - underweight
RISK FACTORS OF PRESSURE SORES
early sign of pressures sore includes:
appearance of red areas, or red spot on the skin which does not clear within 30 minutes
def of heterotopic ossification:
calcium deposits in the form of mature bone in soft tissue
