External finding
Mouth lips (bruise, abrasion): take swab to look for seminal fluid from oral penetration

Lab ix
- torn clothings
- seminal stain (fluoresce greenish yellow under uv light)
- semen: test for acid phosphatase or DNA fingerprint
- swab for saliva: around bite marks
- swab for semen: mouth, vulva, vagina, anus
- swab for bacteriologic culture for gonococcal infection: vulva, vagina
- urine: toxicology
- blood: toxicology, blood group, DNA fingerprint and VDRL
Internal examination
- abdomen open
- pelvis open
- anterior pelvic bone remove to reveal pelvic organ
- uterus open
- examine vagina for any tears
Medicolegal questions
- previous SI
- recent SI
- evidence of restraint/resistance
- did intercourse occur
- what trace evidence is available
Seminal analysis
- seminal stain may fluoresce a bluish silver under uv light
- acid phosphatase enzyme in semen
- immmunologic test: animal antihuman semen sera against extracts of stain
- prostate specific antigen in semen
- blood group of sweat and semen
- dna analysis of secretions by PCR or STR (short tandem repeats)
