When alternating oblongs, keep the following in mind:
Mold First directions were convex and using parallel distribution
Mold second direction toward Concave end; do not disturb first direction
Form ridge beginning at concave end ; position teeth of comb along index finger and slide comb approx 1 inch toward concave end
Flatten comb, switch fingers to position ridge between index and middle finger
Turn comb and distribute in opposite direction
Reinforce 1at direction of second oblong
2 comb technique: not authorized for stateboard
The teeth of one comb is used to mold and distribute the hair to form the wave, while the spine of the other comb is used to reinforce the wave in the opposite direction
Creating skip waves
An alternation consisting of at least 2 oblongs and 2 rows of pin curls creates a skip waves and produces a strong wave pattern
