Define high risk course
Condition with elevated probability of loss or an increased level of severity is likely or imminent
Types of courses considered as high risk and RAC codes
Swim/firefighting. RAC 1 or 2 is high risk and 3 is minor injury, 4 is minimal threat
Types of courses and explain
Voluntary- has ability to Drop on Request
Involuntary - accession training or follow on specialty skills
DOR process
students request to drop from class, expeditiously remove from training area, a written summary of action taken is entered in student’s service record and a copy is maintained in the commands permanent records.
TTO procedure
Concern for personal safety or a need to clarify procedures, training will cease and continue when condition is returned to safe state
what is EAP
Emergency action plan- an internal plan to be implemented immediately upon advent of a mishap to aid involved persons and to control and/or safeguard the scene
Discuss safety standdown
Minimum requirement is conduct once a year and additional may be warranted by CO
Discuss mishap reporting
Report and record all training related mishap IAW OPNAVINST 5102.1D
Training mishap- any mishap that occurs to instructors, students, or assets while conducting training as a result of curriculum or environment per OPNAVINST 5100.8G
