Q

What is the purpose of the Peripheral Nervous System?

A
  • The autonamic system regulates the involuntary things we do (ie. heart beat, breathing, blinking, peristalisis)
  • In depth, the automatic system has a sympathetic system that prepares body for fight or flight and parasympathetic system conserves energy.
  • The somatic system regulates voluntary things (walking, skeletal muscles)
