1. Spirogram Flashcards
1
Q
How did you collect the data?
A
Data was collected using a spirogram and a handheld mouthpiece for the patient to breathe through
2
Q
What did you measure using the spirogram?
A
- Spirogram was used to measure airflow into and out of the lungs during diff conditions:
Breathing at rest, rapid breathing, + breathing after exercise
3
Q
What data did you find?
A
- When the patient participated in physical activity, the duration b/w breaths became shorter
- The patient’s tidal volume, insp + exp vol were higher after performing exercise
- This is because the patient took larger breaths, which increased the amt. of air moving inside + outside her lungs (vol increased)
