ECO SYSTEMS
ECO SYSTEMS are made up from:
- PLANTS
- ANIMALS
- The ENVIRONMENTS
BIOTIC parts of an ECO SYSTEMS
BIOTICS - part of an ECO SYSTEMS
- the LIVING PARTS - eg ANIMALS & PLANTS
ABIOTIC parts of an ECO SYSTEM are:

eg PLANTS are PRODUCERS and take ENERGY from the SUN
- plants produce chemical energy by the process of PHOTOSYNTHESIS
- producers are at the bottom of the food chain and may be eaten by CONSUMERS
CONSUMER
The consumer gets its ENERGY from the PRODUCER
eg the CONSUMER (cow) gets its energy from the PRODUCER (grass)
DECOMPOSES
DECOMPOSES - breakdown plant and animal material and RETURN the NUTRIENTS to the SOIL
eg of DECOMPOSES are BACTERIA and FUNGI
