0.3 DSA Intro to Autonomics Pharmacology Flashcards
What are the general effects of α1 receptors?
Vascular smooth muscle contraction
What are the general effects of α2 receptors?
Decreased insulin secretion
Decreased NE secretion
Smooth muscle contraction
What are the general effects of β1 receptors?
Increased force/rate of heart contraction and AV nodal conduction velocity
What are the general effects of β2 receptors?
Vascular relaxation
Bronchial relaxation
GI/GU smooth muscle relaxation
What are the general effects of β3 receptors?
Lipolysis
Only found on adipose tissue
What are the general effects of D1 receptors?
Vasodilation
Natriuresis
Diuresis
What are the general effects of muscarinic receptors?
Smooth muscle contraction
Decreased heart rate
(parasympathetic)
Smooth muscle of blood vessels are not innervated by parasympathetic neurons. How do they vasodilate?
Once receptor is activated, the release of EDRF (NO) is triggered. This directly leads to vasodilation.
